Rust-Oleum's Chalked Ultra Matt paint and Chalked Glaze bring new life to a rummage sale table. It's easy to turn a one-color table into a two-colour masterpiece with just a few steps.

Step 1: Sand the entire table with a sanding block, making sure to remove the existing finish from the area to be stained. With a tack cloth or lint-free cloth, wipe away any sanding residue.

Step 2: Apply Wood Stain liberally to the tabletop in small sections. Let it sit for 1-3 minutes before wiping away any excess. For darker colors, let stain sit longer before wiping away. Let dry for 1 hour.

Step 3: Stir the Ultra Matt Chalked paint thoroughly to ensure any unsettled pigment is redispersed. With a high-quality synthetic brush, use light, even brush strokes to ensure even flow and the smoothest finish on the table feet, pedestal and skirt. Let first coat dry for at least 30 minutes before applying a second coat. Let the paint fully cure for 3-4 days before applying decorative glaze.

Step 4: Gently stir the can of Decorative Glaze. With a synthetic brush, coat the surface of the chalked paint evenly, making sure to get the crevices, corners and raised sections. Using cheesecloth, wipe the excess glaze from the surface to reveal the finished look. Wipe in the direction of the wood grain. Let dry for at least 8 hours before applying a top coat.

Step 5: Apply Chalked Protective Topcoat over the entire table with a high-quality synthetic paint brush using light, even strokes. Let dry at least 2 hours between coats and apply 1-2 topcoats for best protection.
